How to correctly measure your body fat percentage:
The 3 point method:
- Belly fold: Here you measure the horizontal skin fold, about 2-3 cm to the right of the belly button.
- Triceps: Here you measure the vertical skin fold in the center of the triceps
- Hip: Here you measure the diagonal skin fold directly over the pelvic bone
The 7 point method:
- Chest: Here you measure the horizontal skin fold between nipple and armpit
- Armpit: Here you measure the vertical skin fold at the shoulder, in nipple height
- Back: Here you measure the diagonal skin fold at the lower end of the scapula
- Triceps: Here you measure the vertical skin fold in the center of the triceps
- Hip: Here you measure the diagonal skin fold directly over the pelvic bone
- Abdomen: Here you measure the vertical skin fold next to the belly button
- Thighs: Here you measure the vertical skin fold midway between the hip and kneecap
